Best David Albert

As geographer and Italianist, DB’s research developed out of his primary degree in European Studies (1999, Cork) and his PhD in Italian Literature (2008, Cork), where he focused on rurality in twentieth-century Italian novels, later embracing cultural studies on Italian rural and peasant affairs in 20th-21st-century politics, society and economy. He has published internationally on Tombari, Volponi, Cassola, Petri, and Genitoni. DB has taught Italian Culture at University College Cork, at the University of St Andrews, and at Trinity College Dublin; he has also worked at the EU Committee of the Regions. He currently teaches at Naples “Orientale” University.
